Despite being the engine and cornerstone of our communities, Women's potential consistently stalls due to a lack of market-driven skills, limited access to affordable capital, exploitation by unfair markets, and most critically- face a severe time poverty due to a lack of comprehensive SRH knowledge and services. Consequently, they spend three times the time on unpaid care work, which consistently restricts their educational completion and training, limiting available time for business or career growth-contributing to cycles of poverty and inequality
But it doesn't have to be that way.
Our Response
WAF-Kenya is unlocking the economic agency of women in rural and low-income communities through a care-enabled economic access pathway : We reduce the care burden .We build capabilities .We unlock capital . We establish linkage to markets to enable them build dignified, meaningful, and sustainable livelihoods
Currently our work is spread across Nairobi,Homabay, Siaya and Migori counties .
Care Enabled Economic Access Model

We provide safe ,nurturing childcare that frees women to work ,learn and thrive

We help women build financial confidence through savings groups, financial education and fair micro-loans .

We connect women to buyers and cooperative so they can earn more and sell consistently
